Registration of State League players in now open and is due on or before midnight on September 15, 2017. The date for registration is earlier again this year for a number of reasons:
Again this year is a $100 late fee if a player registration is completed after 9/15/17 for any returning State League player. The purpose of this late fee is to encourage everyone to register by the deadline. Late registrations may have a big impact in the number of teams we roster in the coming year. Please register by 9/15/17 to avoid this late fee.
This year we will again have several payment options. They include:
NEW THIS YEAR: As a part of your registration this year, you will now need to provide the following information: 1) Insurance Information, 2) Emergency Contact Information, and 3) Medical History Information including the last date of your players tetanus shot/booster.
Registration is not yet available for players at the younger level (Development Level). Registration is anticipated to open for these players sometime in the coming weeks. This will also be communicated at a later time.

The Aberdeen Hockey Association is pleased to announce the naming of the new Girls Varsity Head Coach Shelby Edwards. Shelby grew up in Rapid City & played varsity for the Rushmore Thunder. She attended SDSU where she studied Physical Education. While attending SDSU she played for the SDSU ACHA Hockey Team while being the assistant coach for the Brookings Rangers. She won state in 2012 and was a 3 time league champions. After SDSU Shelby moved to Nebraska to start the first ever women’s hockey program at Midland University. In 2015 she helped start the Girls Team South Dakota, she currently the head coach of the U16 team and assistant coach of the U19 team. She coached the National Camp in St. Cloud for the Girls U15 development Camp in 2015 and the girls U18 Camp in 2016. She is also currently the development rep for the state of South Dakota. "I am looking forward to the opportunity to coach a team that has had such great success and continue to help them grow as young ladies and hockey players, but am most looking forward to working with a great group of girls and the support system that they have from their parents, grandparents, friends, and AHA." -Coach Edwards
The Aberdeen Hockey Association is pleased to announce the naming of the new Boys Varsity Head Coach Jon Aldinger. Jon was born and raised in Aberdeen. He spent 13 years playing for the Cougars growing up. Since his playing days Jon has spent 18 years coaching youth Hockey in Aberdeen. He also plays men’s league. When he isn’t at the arena Jon spends time working at Quest Construction.

The Aberdeen Hockey Association (AHA) will provide the youth of the Aberdeen area opportunities, both recreational and competitive, to participate in ice hockey. Lifetime lessons will be learned in: responsibility, physical fitness, discipline, cooperation, sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, and most important, "fun" with peers.
